Our Wheelhouse
Level 8 Construction specializes in renovations, additions, and ADU’s in the Bay Area since 2004 and we have completed a wide spectrum of projects, ranging from single/multi family homes to restaurants and public works. ie: VA hospitals, universities, Treasure Island community homes, even jail-houses.
As general contractors, we maintain a close-knit team of subcontractors and in-house employees. Years in the business, and close to a 1000 projects, have taught us who the best subcontractors are and whose work has proven time and again to exceed expectations.
We regularly work with architects, designers, engineers, realtors, developers, building owners, Facility managers, Property managers, and other General contractors as well. We come ready with years of experience and training behind us.
We can work around your schedule to impact your business or home as little as possible. In addition when we begin the pre-construction phase, we will work together to develop a construction plan that works for all parties involved.
Our process usually consists of the following steps
Our Typical Process
- Our process starts with the consultation. During this phase, we will begin by establishing the specifics of your project. We visit your site, and determine how best to approach your project.
- Once the materials are specified and the basic plans have been laid out, we will draft an estimatew/ comprehensive costs.
- If anything changes throughout the course of the construction, you will be notified and consulted immediately.
- After our estimate is approved we will begin scheduling and ordering materials. This is the start of the Pre-construction phase. It’s Strategic planning: Understanding who the lead players are and chart a clear pat to completion.
- The real work begins at demolition and clearing the site for work. We then rough in the infrastructures:
- Demoing the old structure
- Laying the foundation
- Framing the new structure
- MEP: Installing the Mechanical, the Electrical and the Plumbing
- Add or modify sprinklers and monitoring systems for larger and addition type projects
- Inspections are held at various stages of the project and are signed off before moving forward.
- Once we pass the inspections we close up the structures, apply the finishes and install all appliances. All along the way the site is open for client inspections as well.
- Weekly stakeholder meetings occur to walk thru the site and record progress. Any changes can be made throughout the process. On larger projects, we publish a project plan with a Gantt Chart to keep abreast and allows tracking of progress, events and milestones.
- After final sign offs by you, we thank you and let you enjoy the new space.
- Our warranties activate at this time as well
About Fai Wong
For most of his life Fai Wong has been associated with the construction industry. His father was a contractor who worked on large scale projects and major hotels in Singapore. He schooled Fai from a young age in collecting data and writing reports. As a result Fai became interested in all aspects of the building industry including interior design, architecture, and materials.
Fai’s initial career was as a software engineer in Silicon Valley managing up to 40 engineers on multiple projects. Here he honed his skills in data tracking, scheduling, motivating and empowering fellow workers, as well as building critical relationships.
The onset of the Dot Com Bust of 2000 persuaded Fai to move into the construction business and combine his managerial skills with his passion for design and building structures. He soon discovered that managing multi million dollar projects was not unlike managing multi thousand dollar construction projects, same principles and techniques.
Not long afterwards Fai and a partner started Level 8 Construction. Today with the help and support of his family, Fai is sole owner of Level 8 Construction. Not surprisingly Fai is handling a myriad of construction projects at any one time and bringing nearly all to successful completions all while maintaining a loyal and dedicated staff and crew.
